An excellent portrayal of the beginning conflict between two warring families. The ongoing dispute brought on by the hillbilly mindset and antagonists on both sides. The main starter was Anse Hatfield's cousin Jim Vance when he killed Randall McCoy's brother because he fought for the North and called Jim Vance a dog fucker. After that, a lot of lies and deceitful deeds were done on both sides, with neither one have the sense to call a truce. Sheer hillbilly stupidity!
