Responsibilities:
- Clarify complex systems through creating effective information architectures, task analysis, use cases, flow diagrams and concept models
- Examine our existing site and identify and codify architectural elements.
- Identify interaction patterns, document usage guidelines and principles and work with development to create reusable components.
- Facilitate brainstorming sessions that engage and empower stakeholders
- Create low fidelity user interface prototypes that allow stakeholders to walk through a user experience at earlier points in the design process
- Identify areas for market and user research.
- Draft objectives, plans and protocols for all research efforts.
- Create storyboards to effectively demonstrate how our users interact and move through an experience
- Communicate with our internal and external customers through active listening and clear written and verbal communications
- Manage and understand the scope and boundaries of projects.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Professional experience in Information Architecture, Interaction or User Experience Design or related field.
- Understanding social systems
- Demonstration of page level and content-level information architecture (e.g. page structure and content inventory respectively)
- Knowledge of principles of Design Thinking and a willingness and desire to go into the world for inspiration
- A firm understanding of and ability to design within an Agile software development process
- Insight into Content Strategy and how it fits into the design process
- Ability to develop highly iterative and low fidelity prototypes in the early stages of design
- Expertise with Illustrator, Photoshop, Fireworks and InDesign
- Passion for design and ability to effectively share your point of view and expertise with project team members and clients
- Working knowledge of HTML and iOS and Mobile best practices for accessibility, performance and localization.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to lead, inspire, and nurture teams with direction, vision and planning
